My Story

For my 10th birthday, I got my first camera from my dad. It was a pathetic little thing: camera/recorder. The quality was terrible, but at the time I thought it was the coolest gift ever. I took it with me everywhere. That’s when photography entered my life. Back then I didn’t realize how much of an impact it would make on me.
Year after year, I would upgrade. I entered local contests. I would spend all of my money on prints to hang in my room. At school, I was always known as the one to go to for pictures. I joined yearbook and the photo club. Photography was my life.

When my dad passed away I was 14 years old. I didn’t think I would survive it. After that, my passion for photography grew. It wasn’t just a hobby or a way to make a few extra bucks. It wasn’t a “cool career” I geared towards. This was my only connection to my father that I had left. This was our bond. And when he couldn’t believe in me anymore, I had to believe in myself.
Today, every milestone I celebrate in my business, I celebrate with my dad. To him I owe my success, my voice, my story. He ignited something in me that no one else saw. He understood the power of storytelling and truth. For that – I am eternally grateful.

My life experiences are what holds me close to this career I've chosen.

I'm a 25 year old momma bear. Though I act like a hardass - I'm a soft, mushy romantic at heart.
I spend my days reading, watching The Office, riding bikes with baby Jack, and snugglin' with my better half Andy. I was born and raised in northeast Tennessee, where I'm surrounded by the most beautiful blue mountains.
I live my life - everyday - with the goal to make a difference in at least one person's life. Even if it's just to make someone smile that day. I practice empathy and compassion, and every move I make is made with intention.
I strive to be an open book. I believe confronting our truths make us stronger, and vulnerability is the power behind human connection.
So, here I am, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. And ready to change the world - one truth at a time.
